I. Product Overview
Loading a Tesla frunk usually means holding bags in one hand while pushing down on a large aluminum hood with the other — and getting it to latch takes more force than a panel that size should need. The Grundig Power Frunk Kit replaces the factory struts with powered ones: one press lifts the hood, another brings it back down, and your hands stay free throughout.
The kit operates through the controls already in the car, so there is no additional remote to carry and nothing new to learn. The struts bolt into the factory mounting points, and the original latch and emergency release continue to work as before.
II. Key Features
Powered Open and Close. One press lifts the hood, another brings it back down. There is nothing to lift and nothing to push shut across the panel, so your hands stay free for groceries, luggage, or the charging cable.
Four Ways to Control It. Operate the frunk from the touchscreen, the Tesla app, the frunk button, or the original key fob — whichever is most convenient when your hands are full.
Stops on Obstruction, Opens by Hand. If the hood meets resistance while closing, the strut stops and reverses rather than pushing through.
Quiet, Sealed, Built for Daily Use. The drive operates below 30 dB. Nitrogen-charged steel struts with a double oil seal handle repeated daily cycles, cold mornings, and wet weather, and the control unit is sealed to IPX-8.

- Installation involves replacing the original factory struts and requires basic hand tools, a socket set, and interior trim removal tools; the process takes approximately two to three hours. If you are not confident in performing the installation yourself, professional assistance is recommended.
- Keep hands and loose items clear of the hood area while the hood is in motion. After installation, test all four control methods and the emergency release cable, and ensure the hood sits flush with the body and locks securely when closed.
