Issue 1

Position Dropout — One or More Positions Stop Showing on the Display

Sensor battery depleted. External TPMS sensors run on non-replaceable lithium batteries with a 5–7 year service life. When the battery is fully depleted, the sensor stops transmitting entirely — with no final warning signal.

  • Sensor physically damaged — valve stem impact, pressure washer, tyre mounting
  • Sensor not transferred during tyre rotation or replacement service

Alarm thresholds set incorrectly for the vehicle's operating pressure range. Factory default thresholds are calibrated for passenger cars at 30–35 PSI and will alarm constantly on commercial van or RV tires at 60–100+ PSI. Low alarm set above normal operating pressure produces constant false low-pressure alerts.

  • High pressure alarm set too low — triggers from normal friction heat buildup during highway driving, not actual overinflation
  • Temperature alarm set lower than normal operating temperature for the vehicle type

  • Monitor position relative to sensor — metal trailer body or chassis blocking signal in certain orientations
  • Radio frequency interference from nearby equipment at specific locations
  • Loose valve stem — sensor moving with wheel rotation rather than transmitting stably
Fix Sequence
1. If sensor is over 4 years old: replace proactively — intermittent signal always precedes dropout. 2. If under 4 years: inspect sensor housing for moisture damage or cracking. 3.
