Tesla Dashboard Display vs Heads-Up Display — which one should you buy?
Both put speed in front of you instead of on the center screen. A heads-up display does that for under $90. A dashboard display costs more, but adds CarPlay, a bigger screen and driver-assist alerts. When you weigh a Tesla dashboard display vs heads-up display, start with your car's model year: it rules out half the options before price comes into it.

Dashboard Display vs HUD: FAQ
Is a dashboard display better than a heads-up display for a Tesla?
It depends on what you want. A heads-up display shows speed and gear for under $90. A dashboard display adds a larger screen, wireless CarPlay and, on some models, driver-assist alerts — for $235 and up.
Do heads-up displays fit the Model 3 Highland or Model Y Juniper?
Not ours. The Mini HUD, T10 and T2 fit 2019–2023 Model 3 and 2020/2021–2024 Model Y. For Highland and Juniper, choose the 8.9-inch, 9.66-inch or 10.88-inch display.
Which option has CarPlay?
The dashboard displays. The 8.9-inch, 9.66-inch and 10.88-inch screens all support wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. The HUDs don't.
Which is easier to install?
The HUDs: the Mini HUD sits in an air vent and the T10 mounts with adhesive. Dashboard displays plug into the factory connector — the 9.66-inch cluster takes about 30 minutes.
