Tesla Model 3 Speedometer Display FAQ
What's the cheapest way to see speed in front of me in a Model 3?
The Mini HUD at $59. It sits in an air vent and shows speed, battery, gear and turn signals. It fits 2019–2023 Model 3 cars with the factory 26-pin rear OBD port.
Which speedometer displays fit the 2024+ Model 3 Highland?
Only the dashboard screens: the 8.9-inch F9 Pro, the 9.66-inch cluster and the 10.88-inch display. The head-up displays and the 8.8-inch T3 Pro fit 2019–2023 cars.
Does the speed reading match the car?
Yes. These displays read data from the car through its own interface, so speed matches what the center screen shows and follows your MPH or km/h setting.
Do I need to drill or cut wires?
No. The HUDs mount on the dash or in a vent and plug into the car's interface; the dashboard screens plug into the factory connector.
HUD or dashboard screen — which should I choose?
Choose a HUD if you mainly want speed and gear for under $90. Choose a dashboard screen if you also want wireless CarPlay, a bigger display or driver-assist alerts.
