The Model Y frunk pops but doesn't lift, and closing it means pressing the hood down by hand. A power frunk raises and lowers the hood on electric struts, from the touchscreen, the app, the key fob or the frunk button.

Which Model Y versions does the power frunk fit?
There are two Model Y kits: one for 2020–2024 and one for 2025+ Juniper. The kits aren't interchangeable, so choose the version that matches your car's model year.
How do I open the power frunk?
From the touchscreen, the Tesla app, the frunk button or the original key fob — the same controls you already use.
What happens if something is in the way when it closes?
The struts stop when they meet resistance instead of forcing the hood down.
Does the power frunk include soft close?
The power frunk opens and closes the hood. For a hood that pulls itself into the latch, add the separate frunk soft-close lock.
Can I still open the frunk if the power fails?
Yes. A manual pull cable for emergency release is included.
