Which Model Y years does the soft close door kit fit?
It fits the 2020–2024 Model Y and the 2025+ Model Y Juniper. The same kit also fits the Model 3 from 2017 onward, including Highland.
How does a soft close door work?
When a door is left partly open, a small electric motor pulls it in until it's fully latched — about one second, with up to 300 N of pull-in force.
Is installation difficult?
The door panels have to come off, so professional installation is recommended. The installation is non-destructive and built around the factory latch.
Is it loud?
Operating noise is rated at 60 dB or less, with noise-damping components in the actuator.
Is it safe around fingers?
The motor pulls the door the last part of the way, so keep hands and objects clear of the door gap while it's drawing in — teach passengers, especially children, to let go once the door touches the seal.
